What to Do

A visit to the Cape Cod Canal Region can be as laid-back or as eventful as you wish. The region’s natural amenities alone are reason enough to visit, and there are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the scenery. You can hike or bike the region’s trails. There are also plenty of water activities here, including swimming, fishing, deep-sea fishing, whale watching, canal cruises and water sports.

Family activities are abundant here, too. Whether you choose an amusement park, an educational day at one of the area’s many historic sites or museums, an old-fashioned train excursion, a walk on the wild side at the zoo, or a summer concert, you’re sure to enjoy your days and nights. Sports fans can enjoy our golf courses or even collegiate baseball, courtesy of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

A shopping day in any of our charming, historic villages and towns can be both rewarding and relaxing. Browse quaint shops for fine art, collectibles, antiques, books, candles, jewelry, and more in an atmosphere of historic charm, with plenty of personalized, expert service. Visit an old-fashioned general store and take a step back in time. See artisans and crafters at work in their studios or pick up some delicious fresh produce at roadside farm stands. Power shoppers can hunt for bargains at one of the area’s factory outlet malls. Stop by any of our conveniently located Visitor Information Centers for more ideas on what to do and see in the Cape Cod Canal Region.
