A Local Comprehensive Plan Visioning Workshop has been scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 6:00pm at the Oak Crest Cove Conference Center in Sandwich.  The LCP update project was made possible through a state grant from the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism received by the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce, a grant from Barnstable County acting through the Cape Cod Economic Development Council and the Town of Sandwich.

BRING BACK THE FIREWORKS

The Town of Wareham, Onset Bay Association, Wareham Village Association, and Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce have partnered together to bring back the Fireworks in Onset Village, scheduled on Saturday, July 5, 2008. 

$20,000 must be raised for the Fireworks Display.  The Wareham Fireworks Committee, chaired by Lauren Besse Cardin and Jamie Cubellis Souza, is fast at work in developing appeal letters and contacting corporate sponsors.  Much progress has been made.  About $8000 has been raised to date.

Support from the community is imperative. Donations, small or large, can be sent to Town of Wareham Fireworks Fund, Treasurer/Collectors Office, 54 Marion Road, Wareham, MA  02571.  (More Info Click Here)

Lowe's and Buzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity are looking for women volunteers to work just one day on a Habitat house construction site during National Women Build Week, May 4 - 10. Congratulations to the National Marine Life Center on the groundbreaking for its new Life Support System Pumphouse and Utility Building - which will provide for the intake and discharge of sea water directly from the Cape Cod Canal.  The $1.4 million project will utilize a directional drilling process to access the Canal.
