New Sagamore Visitor Center
The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber’s Sagamore Center Task Force, took a tour last week of the new information center under construction at the base of the Sagamore Bridge. The project includes construction of a new commuter lot as well. Design of the new center by Keenan & Kenney Architects of Falmouth, is in keeping with the character of Cape Cod with white cedar shingles and a cupola resembling a lighthouse in the front. Representatives from Mass Highway, the Executive Office of Transportation and Construction Dynamics, Inc. were also on hand to answer the group’s questions.

ELECTRICAL UPGRADE AT BUZZARDS BAY PARK
The Buzzards Bay Vitalization Association, Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, and Bourne Department of Public Works partnered together to provide updated electrical service at the Park. An investment of over $6000.00 has been made to provide better electrical service for the Free Concerts in the Park Series and Bourne Scallop Fest sponsored by the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, Road Race sponsored by the Buzzards Bay Vitalization Association, and many other events sponsored by other non-profit organizations throughout the year. Jeff Luce, President of BBVA, stated: “The electrical service at the Park hasn’t been updated for quite some time. This was a way to improve the service and provide the community the kind of help needed to promote the many events at the Park.” Mr. Luce spearheaded the effort including getting some parts from Johnson Electrical Supply in Sagamore Beach. Marie Oliva, President/CEO of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber emphasized: “It’s great when non-profit organizations work directly with the town to finance projects that benefit the entire community. It’s a true example of a win-win situation.”
