Each year, the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation provides more than $1,000,000 of support in grants to community based organizations working for progress on a specific issue or set of issues facing communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, within the Eastern Bank footprint.

Rana Murphy, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager for Eastern Bank, will be the guest speaker for this year’s Annual Meeting.  Rana has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years and currently manages fifteen branches in Southeastern, Massachusetts with over 90 employees in Sales, Operations and Community Relations.  Rana is involved in her community and serves on a variety of boards including the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Cape & Islands United Way and on the Advisory Board of the Cape Symphony & Conservatory.  She attended the RBS Leadership programs I & II in St. Andrews, Scotland taught by Harvard Business School, has completed the Babson Advanced Leadership Development Program and most recently graduated from a three year program in Retail Banking sponsored by the Consumer Banking Association at Furman University.  Rana Lives in West Barnstable and has three children, Tyler, Zack and Sarah.

The Chamber will also present its Mentor of the Year Award to Cynthia Outhouse.  Cynthia is Vice President of Philanthropy at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, a position she has held for fourteen years.   She has over thirty years’ experience in health care fund development, management, strategic planning and public relations, and holds a Master’s Degree in Communications Management from Simmons College.  Previously, Cynthia served as Executive Director for the Cape Cod Hospital Foundation and before that, spent 22 years at Tobey Hospital in Wareham where she held a number of positions, including Vice President for Philanthropy.   She is a member of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the national Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce.
