The Business of the Year Award is being presented to SERVPRO of Upper Cape Cod & The Islands. After 25 years in the construction industry, owners Bill and Beth Russell expanded their services to include cleanup and restoration. They opened their first SERVPRO location in Bourne in 2008, providing fast 24/7 emergency services 365 days a year with the highest quality of work. They have satellite locations on both Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard and recently expanded to include a franchise in the Greater Bristol County area. SERVPRO specializes in the cleanup and restoration of residential and commercial property damage caused by fire, smoke, soot or water and flood damage, as well as providing mold inspections and mold removal. The Russell’s have built their business reputation on hard work, fair pricing and impeccable customer service.
Both Bill and Beth Russell graduated from Sandwich High in 1984 and raised their family in Sandwich. Beth continued her education and graduated from Cape Cod Community College with an Associate in Arts Degree and went on to graduate from Suffolk University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Relations & Communications in 2005. Recently, The Russell’s moved from their hometown of Sandwich to the Town of Bourne where their business is located.
SERVPRO of Upper Cape Cod & The Islands is a family effort. Under their leadership, two of their children, Will Russell and Meredith Chapdelaine, along with husband Matthew Chapdelaine, together run the daily management of the staff. Bill and Beth’s nephew, Dan Lulley, also works within the company overseeing the reconstruction division. From the person who answers the first phone call in to their office to the last person broom sweeping the floor on the job, they all understand the stress of dealing with property damage and find great satisfaction helping owners restore their property, sometimes even better than it was before.
Bill and Beth’s passions don’t end with their company and customers. Both are active members of the Cape Cod Insurance Agents Association, Cape Cod Young Professionals and Nantucket Builder’s Association. Beth also sits on the Board of Directors of The Children’s Museum of Cape Cod. She also serves on two other boards as a Director for the Cape Cod Canal Region and Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and as an Ambassador for two Chambers of Commerce (Falmouth and Nantucket). Beth also is an active member of The Cape Cod Hoarding Taskforce. When Bill and Beth find time to break free from the helm of the business, you can find them venturing the waters of the Cape and Islands on their boat insightfully named “Legacy.” For more information on SERVPRO of Upper Cape Cod and The Islands visit their website at http://www.servprouppercapeandislands.com/.
The Chamber will also present its Ambassador of the Year Award to Lynn Laporte of Ebb and Flow Wellness. Lynn Laporte is a native Cape Codder and an esthetician at Ebb and Flow Wellness in Onset. She has been in the skincare industry for over ten years and is privileged to be partnering with Beautycounter, whose mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. They became a host family seven years ago and, most recently, Lynn served on the Board, holding the position of the Host Family Coordinator. She currently volunteers with the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better Program which supports women going through cancer treatments. Lynn is passionate about helping people with their skin, to serve both their inner and outer health.
In addition, Lynn is an Ambassador with the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, belonging to the Cape Cod Chamber, and also the 6 Degrees Networking Group in Bourne.
