Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce

Welcome to the communities of Bourne, Sandwich and Wareham located along the banks of the Cape Cod Canal and the shores of Buzzards Bay. The Canal built during the Great Depression, became and remains the widest sea-level canal without locks in the world. We work to inform, educate and advocate on behalf of the business and residential community.

Saturday is the Kentucky Derby! Here's a little bit of "hat history"!

History of Kentucky Derby Hats:
Dating back to the famous Royal Ascot in 1711, it was ordered that guests inside the Royal Enclosure followed a strict dress code including hats for women during these English horse races. Today, patrons of the popular Kentucky Derby, taking place the first Saturday of May each year, have been putting their fashion sense on parade since 1875. Derby Day guests enjoy strutting their stuff in fashionable Kentucky Derby headwear.

If you get creative with your headwear, be sure to post it, and tag the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce!
